The original superhero is back. The familiar red, yellow and blue icon known as Superman returns from a mysterious six-year absence, where he will have to face not only Lex Luthor, but the public perception that Metropolis might have been better off without him....comez out June 30th 2006 movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&cf=info&id=1807839024

I don't even need to know the plot or the movie...any Superman movie without Christopher Reeves as the man is just as good as any Superman Video game made known to man, especially that piece of crap for Nintendo 64.

last i heard it was supposed to be continuing off of the last Reeve movie, but either way, I never liked the character of Superman, nor the movies Reeve or not, nor the series' animated or live, nor the comics, but I just may give this a chance anyways.

Personally my favorite character is Batman, but I have such a great amount of respect for the character of Superman. I was the biggest fan for Supes as a kid. But even though I don't identify with the character as much as I did when I was a kid I still am a big fan. I personally can't wait to see this movie and hope to see it in IMAX being I haven't seen anything in IMAX before.
The plot is going to be awesome too. From what I understand the Man of Steel takes a hiatus from earth because it seems as if the planet and people don't need him anymore. The movie is about him returning after being gone for some time. If anyone has ever read the graphic novel "Kingdom Come" you all will understand what the effect is the movie is going for. Same thing happened in the graphic novel. All the old school, original heroes retired and new heroes took over. But since the new heroes did not know what they were doing they had to make a big time comeback, defeat the new heroes, and win back their right to be heroes once more.
It's pretty damn good. Superman actually gets exiled from being a hero because he won't kill the Joker EVEN after he gased the entire city and killed thousands, one of them being Lois.
But I have ranted enough. Comic books rule and as a long time comic book fan I'm thrilled beyond words to see some of the best characters be represented on the big screen in a manner that is worthy of them. Comic book flicks may be mainstream now but I've been a comic book fan for a long time before all of that. For me my heroes being portrayed on the big screen the best way possible is just too awesome.
